I vividly recall thinking the time between turning off the lights and getting in bed was the most dangerous part of the day. Everything I could not see, every shadow, every covered space was harboring some thing just waiting for me to enter its reach and only held at bay by the streaks of light.
Haha! I love the stylized aspect you chose for this piece to illustrate your fear - it works very very well. It definitely gets the message across, of all the creatures that might be lurking in the dark there, just out of sight. Great job here, atarashiidesu, taking that concept and turning it into this Keep it up, eh?
This is a great picture. I can definitely see the concept portrayed here. And I can relate to that feeling! When I was a kid I would sprint to my bed after turning off the lights..still do sometimes..
I like how the lighting/colour works in this. It's different than what I would expect, thinking about monsters hiding in the shadows. Seems like dusk, yet feels like morning! As a sidenote, I like the inclusion of the shadow of the ladder and the boxy light on the floor.
